Architecture of Tirupati Balaji Temple:
There are three dwarams (entrances) that lead to the sanctum sanctorum from outside. The Mahadwaram also known as the Padikavali is the first entrance that is provided through the Mahaparam (outer compound wall).
A 50 feet, five-storey gopuram (temple tower) has been erected above this Mahadwaram, with seven urns on top.
Vendivakili (Silver Entrance) also known as Nadimipadikvali is the second entrance and is accessed through Sampangiprakarma (Inner Compound Wall).
A three-storey gopuram has been constructed over Vendivili, with seven Kalams on top. Bangaruvili (Golden Entrance) is the third entrance which will enter the sanctum sanctorum.
On either side of this door are two tall copper statues of the gatekeeper Jaya-Vijaya. The thick wooden door is covered with gold gilt plates, depicting the Dashavataram of Vishnu.
